Senior General Maintenance Worker

Position Summary

To work under general guidance from the Team Leader to provide general maintenance support, cleaning, event, construction clean-up and other general maintenance duties for Cultura’s Infrastructure department. This is a hands-on role that will include a variety of tasks and require a variety of skills.

The Senior General Maintenance Worker will work under general guidance within clearly defined guidelines. You will be responsible for a minor function based on their skills and experience; this may involve resolving minor issues in the relevant work area within established work practices. They may also be required oversee and/or guide the work of a limited number of Gardener and Maintenance Workers while on a job.

This position is offered to work in a fixed term full-time basis for 12 months.

 Duties

  • Maintain professional standards including undertaking work in a timely and safe manner.
  • Ensure all equipment is used and maintained appropriately.
  • Learn new skills, follow instructions and ask questions when unsure.
  • Responsibility over a minor function based on their skills and experience.
  • Resolving minor procedural issues within established work practices.
  • May also be required oversee and/or guide the work of a limited number of Gardener and Maintenance Workers while working on jobs.
  • Ensuring all Residents rooms are ready for new admission as priority.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications and experience

  • Construction industry white card (preferred not required);
  • Current driver’s licence;
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and on evenings and weekends (if required);
  • Ability to follow instructions, policies and procedures closely;
  • A positive attitude and energetic approach to working;
  • Willingness and ability to undertake physical work;
