Shape the financial future of a values led organisation entering its next phase

Cultura is entering an exciting new chapter of growth and transformation under a new CEO. Formed through the merger of two respected community organisations with more than 40 years of service, Cultura delivers a diverse portfolio of aged care, community services, settlement support, adult learning, and social enterprises, including Victoria’s largest free multicultural festival, Pako Festa.

Our purpose is clear: to provide innovative services that support, care for and celebrate culturally diverse individuals through their life journey.

Our work is complex, highly regulated and deeply meaningful.

We are now seeking an exceptional General Manager- Finance & Commercial Services to join the Executive Leadership Team and help position Cultura for long‑term financial sustainability and impact.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role provides executive leadership for the organisation’s finance and commercial functions. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across finance, procurement, capital and asset management, and key corporate enablement functions.

This role is ideal for a senior finance executive who enjoys operating at both enterprise and operational levels, and who can bring clarity, discipline and commercial insight during a period of change.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership across financial management, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and statutory compliance
  • Shaping long‑term financial strategy to support sustainable growth, service viability and organisational impact
  • Partnering with the CEO and Executive to strengthen financial governance, accountability and commercial decision‑making
  • Leading procurement, contract management and capital planning to ensure value for money and fit‑for‑purpose assets
  • Providing high‑quality financial insight, modelling and advice to support investment, partnerships and new initiatives
  • Leading, developing and uplifting a values‑aligned finance and corporate services team
  • Supporting Cultura’s transition toward a more commercially mature operating model within a highly regulated environment

This is a rare opportunity to influence the strategic direction, financial maturity and long‑term sustainability of an organisation that matters deeply to the community it serves.

About You

You are a credible, pragmatic and values‑driven finance leader with the confidence to operate at Executive and Board level. You balance commercial rigour with empathy, purpose and sound judgement.

You will bring:

  • Significant senior‑level experience in financial leadership, ideally within complex, regulated or multi‑service environments
  • Strong expertise in financial governance, reporting, budgeting and performance management
  • Well‑developed commercial acumen across procurement, contract management and capital investment
  • The ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for non‑financial leaders
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, strengthening systems and embedding financial accountability
  • Experience supporting organisations through change, reform or growth
  • CA or CPA qualification (mandatory), with a relevant tertiary qualification

Experience within aged care, disability, community services or the not‑for‑profit sector will be highly regarded, but is not essential.

Why join Cultura?
  • Join a purpose‑driven organisation with deep community impact
  • Be part of a committed Executive Leadership Team under new CEO leadership
  • Influence strategy and sustainability at an enterprise level
  • Work within a culture grounded in Inclusion, Integrity, Sustainability and Kindness
